Parkers Chapel's Landon Black was the heavy lifter on the Trojans' golf team. Although PC didn't advance as far as it was hoped, Black shouldered more than his share of the load, earning All-State honors.
The senior was named a finalist for Fall Sports Male Athlete of the Year.
"Landon Black had a great season on the Parkers Chapel golf team this year. He medaled in most of our matches, and led his team to win several matches," said PC coach Hillary Frisby. "Landon qualified for state individually by being medalist runner up at the conference tournament. He also earned all-state honors at state for the third year in a row.
"It was an honor to have the opportunity to coach Landon. He is an all around great person. You can always count on Landon to try his best whether it be in the classroom or on the golf course. I am going to miss having him as a player but I am excited for what his future holds."
Black shot a season-best 76 at the 2A 6 District Tournament and carded an 80 at the 2A State Tournament.
"Landon had a phenomenal career as a Trojan golfer," Frisby said. "He was not only a talented golfer but he was a great teammate. Landon will truly be missed next year."
