Jazmine Aguirre was new to El Dorado this year but the freshman made herself at home on the cross country team. Aguirre ran one race on the junior high team before moving up to senior high and immediately establishing herself as the Lady Wildcats’ leading runner.
“Jazmine had an amazing freshman season,” said El Dorado coach John Koonce. “She won three races this year and medaled in three more. She helped lead the varsity girls team to their best season ever and she earned all conference in one of the toughest conferences in the state.”
Aguirre was named as a finalist for Fall Sports Female Athlete of the Year.
Aguirre finished first in the Lori McDougald Invitational and the Run on the Grand Prairie. She earned All-Conference honors, placing eighth at the 5A South Championships with a time of 22:04.11.
