Smackover’s Judson Wolfe did more than his share to represent his school during the Fall semester. The junior not only handled kicking duties for the Bucks’ football team, he was an All-Conference performer on the golf course.
Wolfe’s golf exploits made him a finalist for Fall Sports Male Athlete of the Year.
“Judson had a really good year and I’m proud of him,” said Smackover golf coach Josh Wesson. “He was medalist in several matches throughout the season and helped guide our boys team to another successful season.”
Wolfe opened the season with a solid 83 at the Simmons First Invitational on the Lion’s Club course. He competed primarily in eight-hole events before he shot a season-low 77 at the 3A 8 District Tournament. He finished the season with an 86 at the 3A State Tournament.
“He works extremely hard at his craft and it shows on the course each time we have a match,” said Wesson. “He qualified for state again this year and had another really good showing. He's a great leader and a great young man.”
The date for the Scholar Athlete Awards Banquet will be announced later.
