West Side Christian’s senior girls basketball game tonight against Arkansas Christian has been cancelled. West Side will only play two games, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

“We’ve got too many out with the flu,” said West Side coach Randall Miller, who was asked if it’s a school-wide situation.

“We’ve got some staff out and some little ones. But the boys team, I’ve got everybody here. The junior girls, I have 12-out-of-12. Nobody’s symptomatic. I think maybe it started on that girls team. We played Friday. I don’t know if it just spread. I really don’t know. I expect at some point it’s going through the school. It usually hits us somewhere in this window during the year. We sometimes have to have a day or two out because we don’t have enough staff healthy. But we’re here today and we’ll evaluate the rest of the week. We plan on playing two tonight and then we’ll see what happens.”

The Warriors and Lady Warriors are scheduled to play again on Friday and Saturday.

“We have a Classic on Friday and Saturday down at Prairie View Academy in Bastrop,” said Miller. “I’m going to have to evaluate that as the week goes on. We really want to go play. They’re in our tournament. We want to honor that and be in theirs. I just have to see. I may have to bring a bunch of kids from junior high up for it. I’m not sure. I’ll evaluate that as we go.”
