West Side Christian will tip off its volleyball season Tuesday with a home matchup against Taylor. Action begins at 4:30 p.m. with junior varsity followed by the varsity girls.
The Lady Warriors return three starters, Carley Bain, Camille McKnight and Vivian Conley, from last year’s team that competed in the state tournament.
“Bain is our strongest defensive player, especially on the net and McKnight is our strongest offensive player,” said Coach Shelby Jones. “Conley plays whatever role needed but is an asset to the back row on defense. But it definitely takes all six players, not just individuals.”
Also on Tuesday, Parkers Chapel opens its tennis season at Fordyce. El Dorado’s golf team travels to Hot Springs. Smackover’s golf team will play Bismarck at DeGray.
Smackover's football team will participate in scrimmage action at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia.
On Wednesday, Parkers Chapel, Junction City and Gurdon will play golf at the Lions Club.
